Atiku Abubakar has described the 2019 presidential election as the worst in the country’s history vowing that he will reclaim his stolen mandate in court.
Daily Trust reports that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spoke at a world press conference on Wednesday, February 27 following his defeat the election.
Atiku claimed the result of the election does not reflect the will of the people and that he has the actual figures of the election.
The Cable reports that the former vice president claimed there was voter suppression in Akwa Ibo and that the state recorded a 62 per cent decrease compare to 2015.
He said:
“Borno state recorded 82 percent increase in votes cast despite the insecurity in the state.”
“The electoral fraud cannot produce a government of the people for the simple reason that it does not reflect the will of the people.”
“It is for this reason that I reject the result of the election as announced by INEC.” Atiku said he was consulting with his party on the next step to take and that this will be made public soon.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari over his victory in the just concluded presidential elections.
The monarch passed the congratulatory message in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Daura on Wednesday, February 27.
He described the victory of Buhari as a victory for Nigeria and Africa, stressing that the president is not only the leader of Nigeria, but the whole of Africa, considering his ability to organise the continent to speak with one voice.
