In a recent announcement, the African Football Federation (CAF) has postponed the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to 2022.
The tournament, scheduled previously to take place in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6, 2021, has now been postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

CAF said;
“After consultation with stakeholders and taking into consideration the current global situation, the tournament has been rescheduled for January 2022,”
“The date for the final tournament and the remaining matches of the qualifiers will be communicated in due course.”
CAF also announced a postponement of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) to 2021, while the 2020 African Women’s Cup of Nations was cancelled due to the present situation.
