Aubameyang and family moved into a five-star hotel in Barcelona after robbery ordeal

After their terrible robbery nightmare, Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his family were transferred to a five-star hotel after the forward declined recommendations to employ 24-hour security.

A group of four guys are said to have attacked Aubameyang and threatened him with iron bars and weapons in front of his wife Alysha Behague and their two terrified children.

Aubameyang was forced to unlock a safe on the residence in Castelldefels, a beach town south of Barcelona, and the burglars made off with jewelry.

Aubameyang, 33, was attacked in the jaw with an iron rod, and Behague was beaten in the head, but they chose not to go to the hospital so as not to scare their children any more.

According to Catalan news station ARA, Barcelona relocated them to the upscale Princesa Sofia hotel and provided them with counseling.

The burglars plundered the home in the early hours of Monday morning while the children, Curtys, 11, and Pierre, 6, watched helplessly.

The group had no trouble scaling a garden fence to get entry, and they fled in a white Audi A3.

Police suspect the attackers are part of a well-organized gang of Kosovar Albanians and are searching for them.

Babanzila Meshak, a teenage Gabonese football player who has been staying at Aubameyang’s residence and plays for Terrassa, a fourth-tier team, was reportedly present during the robbery but escaped unscathed, according to ARA.

Just seven months after leaving Arsenal due to a falling out with Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, over disciplinary issues, the incident occurs as Aubameyang is said to be returning to the Premier League with Chelsea.
