Ayra Starr Early Life : Biography
Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer-songwriter and fashion and face model. She is from Benin, Edo State, and was born on the 14th of June, 2002.
She was born into a Christian household and raised in Lagos State. Ayra Starr only has one sibling, a brother who is also a musician. She lost her father in 2018, which had a big impact on her because she was quite close to him.
Also, she penned and performed songs in honour of her father. She currently resides on the mainland in Lagos State, Nigeria, with her mother and brother.
CAREER
From a young age, Ayra developed a penchant for singing, songwriting, and modeling. She composed songs and wrote them down in her notebook in her leisure time, and she was also a member of her church choir.
She began coming to a studio near her house to produce music, accompanied by her brother, and she also began doing renditions of some of her favorite songs.
Don Jazzy, the owner of Mavin Records (one of Nigeria’s biggest record labels), saw some of her covers and song videos on her Instagram profile and reached out to her in 2020. Don Jazzy began fostering her musical career, and the two collaborated on a few songs before signing her to Mavin Records in 2020. On January 21, 2021, the record agreement was made public. On the 22nd of January 2021, one day after her record deal was announced, she released her debut self-titled 5-track EP.
