ERIKA ‘PR Diva’ ENYOLU Announces African Fashion Week Toronto 2021 – AFRICAN FASHION WEEK TORONTO is a fashion, arts and music festival celebrating the African cultural heritage through FASHION, ARTS & MUSIC. The event is held annually with a view to promoting the African diaspora, fashion and culture.
The festival also showcases the best traditional & contemporary African fashion and clothing brands in and around Canada and other international destinations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the event wasn’t held in 2020 but is set to make a return in 2021.
The Managing Partner/Head of PR & Media Relations for African Fashion Week Toronto (AFWT), Erika ‘PR Diva’ Enyolu announced the return of the event in 2021. She says that the aim of the festival and showcase event is to promote African/Black owned fashion businesses and to create awareness for youth, emerging & established brands, that it doesn’t matter your tribe, colour or religion you can own a business and/or be successful at whatever you choose to pursue in life, be it a passion or career goal.
The PR Diva informed us that the festival is usually made up of 2 main programs; the entertainment and lifestyle program and the runway showcase program. While the entertainment/lifestyle program features performances by both headline and supporting artists, consisting of entertainers and upcoming musical acts, the runway showcase focuses on the different African fashion brands who are on hand with their models to show off their new designs and clothing collection.
Erika also said that even though a date hasn’t been set yet, the event is tentatively scheduled for August. She explained awards will be also given out at a later date to recognize the contributors of the African Fashion & Art industry.
