Akinloye Saheed, a Facebook user, was arraigned before a magistrate court in Osogbo, Osun Nigeria,
for accusing the state government of introducing the novel Coronavirus to the state.
He posted this on popular social media platform “Facebook”.
Akinloye was arrested for what was called fake news and arraigned today 14 April.
The police lawyer, John ldoko, quoted the convicted individual as arraigning him before the court as saying :
“When I accused Osun Government of importing COVID-19 patients into the state just to access fund from the FG many didn’t believe.
The said imported patients are now Negative.
APC, You Are Not Doing Well.”
The police prosecutor told the court that the accused had committed an offense against and punishable under section 61 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.,
in breach of COVID-19 Osun State 2020 laws. II Nigerian Osun Rules, 2002.

After the arraignment, Dapo Adeniji informed the court of his involvement and eventually sought to take the case over.
The state attorney was also involved in it.
Upon taking the case, his first action was to object to the bail application by his lawyer, Bamidele Ajibade, made to the accused.
Olusegun Ayilara, President of the Court in its decision, dismissed the bail application by Akinloye on ground.
