The authority of College of Education Akwanga in Nasarawa State, said it would install CCTV cameras in all classes and examination halls, to check the menace of exams malpractices by students. Dr. Mrs Rebecca Isaac Umaru, provost of the college made this know yesterday during matriculation of new intake, at the school’s convocation square.
A total of 3,360 students from different schools and departments of the institution were inducted. Dr Umaru, said that the measure has become necessary owing to the high rate of exams malpractices. The provost who described exam malpractice as a disease that does no one good, further warned that any student caught in the act will be shown the way out of the institution. She also called on the students to protect the school’s property and avoid illegal electricity connection. She also commended the governor saying “I would like to acknowledge the support and assistance we have been receiving from the state government under the leadership of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, by providing hostel accommodation for both male and female students” she said.
