Rema was born in 2000 in Benin City, Edo State.
He grew up singing and rapping in local churches and schools at a very young age.
Rema was born into a christian family, he had his primary and secondary school in Edo state.
Rema started music early as a rapper in his secondary school and church, while still in school, he created his own live band, with his friend Almansur known by his stage name Cent.
The duo sang in many public places and until cent decided to face his studies.
Rema continued singing alone until he got signed by Don Jazzy’s younger brother D’Prince the Jonzingworld record owner into the Mavin Records,
Rema was taken up by D’Prince who helped him get signed to Mavin Records, he came through with his debut Project titled REMA -EP.
Even though he just released the EP, It made its way being the NO.1 Album on Apple Music Nigeria and Apple Music USA world charts.
Rema confirmed he contributed to Wizkid’s song Turn up
