Senior prefect die after falling off mango tree in school [4th death incident from the same tree]

Reports making the rounds have it that a senior student and head prefect of Ijo Mimo High School in Akure, Ondo State, identified as Temitayo Oluwole, met his untimely demise after he tripped and fell off a mango tree within the premises of his school.

According to reports by Nigerian Tribune, the young man had attended a tutorial class which was put together for senior students.

Upon the completion of the day’s session, one of the teachers had called on Oluwole to pluck some mangoes from the tree; unfortunately, he fell off in the process.

The report further revealed that an undisclosed source made it known that Oluwole was the fourth student who had mysteriously lost his life after climbing the tree.

“we all came for a tutorial on Saturday, after the tutorial one of our teachers asked him to pluck mango, it was while he was on the tree trying to pluck the mango that he fell and died immediately.

“This is the fourth student to die from falling from this particular tree in this school, and our teachers would not hesitate to send us to pluck mango for them, despite the danger attached to the tree because the tree is evil.

But we can’t disobey them whenever they send us to climb the tree to pluck mango.” the source said.

Although, he had only fainted after he hit the ground, by the time members of the school authority rushed him to the hospital, he gave up the ghost.

Confirming the death of the student, a family member disclosed that members of the school authority had taken to their heels as no one could be reached physically or via phone calls and messages.

It was also gathered that the father of the deceased identified as Pastor Bode Adegoke, confirmed the death of his son.

The bereaved disclosed that when the incident occurred the boy was rushed to a private hospital, after which they were referred to State General Hospital, and finally the Trauma Center in Ondo, where the young man eventually died.
