Department of Police in Edo State has managed to apprehend suspects of rape and killing of Uwaila Omozuwa.
The 22-year-old was assaulted and lethally injured while perusing inside a Reclaimed Christian Church of God on May 27, 2020.
She died three-days-after and her case turned into the point for a resurgence in the mission against rape in Nigeria.
The Edo State Police Order strutted Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Tina Samuel, Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien, and Collins Ulegbe as suspects on August 26.
“What we are seeing today, is a result of the uniting efforts of the police to get at the root of the crime,” Johnson Kokumo said.

Osabohien, a telephone repairer, was the first to be captured by the police since he purchased Uwa’s telephone for N17,000, provoking him to lead specialists to Ulegbe who’s been recognized as the chief suspect.
Ulegbe admitted to hitting Uwa with the discharge quencher that has been recognized as the homicide weapon and left at the area.
He named Ogbebor and Valentine as different speculates who were correspondingly at the area of the wrongdoing with him. The two of them denied their association.

Ulegbe rejected that the assaulted Uwa, however Kokumo said an after death assessment affirmed that she was, actually, assaulted.
