VJ Adams Unveiled As Host Of Naija Star Search

The group stage of the Naija Star Search begins on Sunday, with celebrity OAP VJ Adams serving as the show’s host. This marks a new chapter in the hunt for the next Afrobeats superstar.

Every Sunday at 8 p.m., Naija Star Search is broadcast on the ST Nollywood Plus, ST Nollywood, ST Yoruba, and StarTimes-ON mobile apps.

The judges revealed 17 contestants on Sunday, all of them are up-and-coming musicians. They will solely sing Naija songs, warming up their vibes (gingering their swagger) with oldies and contemporary music before moving on to singing unique songs they had written.

The participants are grouped with the judges during the group phase to get mentoring. The judges of the competition, Kenny “Keke” Ogungbe, ID Cabasa, and Asha Gangali, are anticipated to use their extensive knowledge to bring out the best in these young gems.

Sparrowh, TOMs, MB Dre, Specko, and Kachi are among the competitors on Team Asha; Jaydbody, Greysky, Denerio, Esjay, Thekhaleed, and Skimzo are on Team Cabasa; while eMzez, Eniolá, Black Bella, SKIFFY, Melo, and Jazzman are on Team Keke.

In addition to the N10 million reward, they will compete to make it into the final seven, where they would be trained by the Kennis Music company and given a stage to develop their undeveloped abilities into superstars.

Afrobeats superstars of the future are to be found on the reality program Naija Star Search.

Kenny Ogungbe asserted that Afrobeats would never go away when he compared Naija Star Search to the genre’s future. The people that are keeping it going right now are in their mid-20s and early 30s. In order to maintain it, we must develop young talent while they are still in their teens so that those who currently hold it will still exist in ten years. We are here to reflect the beauty of Nigerian music into the future.

Adams Ibrahim Adebola, better known as VJ Adams, is the show’s host and a well-known video jockey, television personality, and executive producer. VJ Adams, who once worked for Sound City as an OAP, is often sought after to host popular shows across Africa.
