The Minneapolis U.S police officer ‘s wife, Derek Chauvin who reportedly murdered George Floyd, has filed for divorce
This is coming days after George Floyd, a black American, death was caused by the U.S. police officer after he knelt on his back and was yelling
“I can’t breathe.”
After his role in the death of Floyd, Chauvin was arrested on Friday and charged with murder and homicide of a third degree.
According to Hennepin County Attorney, Michael Freeman, further arrests and charges are planned however.

Speaking in the late hours of Friday, May 29, 2020, Mrs Chauvin’s lawyer said :
“This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family.
She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family,
with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy.
She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin,” the Sekula Law Office said in a statement Friday night.
“While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage,
she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time.”
