DSS rearrests Sowore – chases Judge from court with Gun [VIDEO]
After spending 124 days in detention, Sowere and fellow defendant Bakare were released on Dec 5, 2019.
Appearing in court the next day at the Federal High Court, Abuja for trial.
The operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) interrupted the on going trial.
Chased away the presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, Sowere supporters prevented the arrest but they later succeed with the arrest.
Base on the report, Senior Advocate of Nigeria [SAN] Femi Falana, the counsel to Sowore, and the prosecution counsel,
Hassan Liman (SAN) were seen approaching the judge’s chamber.
Falana had previously informed the court that there were plans to file a fresh charge against Sowore, an allegation Liman said he knew nothing about.
Falana confirmed to a Channels TV news programme on Friday, December 6,
that he drove Sowore to DSS’s office in Abuja because they said they had fresh questions for him.
Sowore, he said, was subsequently detained by the secret police.
Disclosing that he chose to drive Sowore to DSS headquarters after things got rowdy when operatives of the security agency made attempts to rearrest the activist inside the courtroom and were resisted by Sowore’s supporters.
