Ebonyi state governor reportedly test positive for COVID-19

Ebonyi state governor Dave Umahi has tested positive for Covid-19 and is reportedly operating in self-isolation.

Since then the government has been handed over to his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe, for management of the state ‘s war against Covid-19.

According to a statement released on Saturday July 4, Umahi said after completing the check he and some of his nearby helpers tested positive for the virus.

He also stated that they had no symptoms, but have since been isolated in compliance with the protocols developed by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC.

Umahi then appealed to the Ebonyi State people to obey NCDC protocols, just as he would be holding practically all meetings.

It should be noted that the state of Ebonyi had reported 438 cases of Covid-19 according to NCDC by Friday 3rd of July. 357 people were treated and released safely, with three death.
