Several deaths have been reported in the entertainment industry.
Part of these deaths was reportedly caused by undisclosed illnesses while others were due to accidents.
However, only few of them died taking their own lives.
Award winning South African actress Shoki Mokgapa died at the age of 34, after battling with clinical depression.
According to her management,
on Thursday, September 27, they revealed that the 34-year-old actress took her own life.
Late Mokgapa’s management disclosed that:
“After a long struggle with clinical depression she took her life on Tuesday, September 25, at the age of 34.
She was a brave woman who had been seeking help but the disease proved to be stronger than she was.
Her family and friends appreciate all the love extended to them from her peers and fans.”
While the family members are yet to fix a date for her funeral, her memorial service is set to hold on Tuesday, October 2, at the Market Theatre.
The deceased was reportedly the first non-Afrikaans speaking actress to win a Silwerskermfees for the best actress.
Late Mokgapa stole the heart of many after she featured in the film, Sink.
This role earned her a Safta award in 2017 for Best Actress in a Feature Film.
